it’s nice to see more punks over 30! especially parents… although i’m not one, i respect all that goes into it. found your blog thanks to my old pal black hockey jesus… good stuff so far! so were you originally from michigan? and i don’t know how anonymous yr trying to be, but i’m really curious what band yr in! i have a handful of both-coast friends that tour europe- they’re actually going again next month… three weeks clean (SF) & plastered bastards (PGH)… never been myself. picked up a felony from spray paint, so i doubt i can even get a passport. oops.

Hi from UK Punk rock dad, as the non PRD of photographer Gavin Watson, thanks for your kind words on his work. We spent many hours in the bathroom processing and printing. We eventually bought a lot of Professional equipment from Camera Press where Gavin first worked, (you can read all about that on his My Space site) when they upgraded their darkroom. I then acquired a builders shed and erected it in the garden to make into a proper darkroom. By then he was doing his own stuff at Camera Press. As a point of interest the Founder of the firm was Tom Blau who did a lot of KARSHS’ Stuff, one of the great portrait photographers, who was Canadian I believe. Anyway Tom saw some of Gavins shots of his mates breaking up the HATTERS LANE SCHOOL old school annexes and called Gavin up to his office on the top floor. This was a man who had handled some of the greatest photographers work of the day. “Son” he said, “these are terrific pictures, when did you take them? “from when I was nearly fourteen” Gavin replied. He was still only sixteen then. “I want to publish some” Tom Said. Gavin was really exited about this and when he got back to High Wycombe he went to the school and spoke to the headmaster about it who put a stop to it as he figured it wouldn’t look good for the school. Ironic really as the school was the roughest in the area. They eventually got published in SKINS. By the way his New Book SKINS & PUNKS is now out with some more of his work. As he has about ten thousand images of that time there is a large archive of his early stuff. Regards. Gavs Dad

I guess I won’t address this to “PRD” since I now know that’s not who you are. I reached out to you because I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. And as we still communicated, you implied that you were being stalked, and other nonsense. I sent a message to Mark Unseen on MySpace, believing it was you. And well, I guess you know what happened. Such a shame. Your posts were cool.
